  • Fastly Announces new Networking Collaboration with Microsoft Azure - the leading edge cloud platform will be connecting its network with Microsoft Azure, providing customers with increased scalability and the economies associated with it.

  • When it Comes to Cloud Migration, Leave the Junk Behind - it’s easy to overlook the quality and quantity of data being transferred during a cloud migration. But in doing so, organizations open themselves to inefficiencies, increased costs, and potential delays. Don’t let your migration turn into an episode of TLC’s “Hoarding: Buried Alive”.

  • Apple’s Cloud Business is Hugely Dependent on Amazon - the tech giant is estimated to be paying more than $360 million to Amazon each year to keep up services like iCloud, Apple Music, and more. It’s interesting for Apple to be so dependent on AWS to operate core parts of its business, even though doing so means working closely with a current and future competitor in many areas of business.

  • The Nintendo Switch in Japan offers a peek at the cloud gaming future - questions around bandwidth and business models required for cloud gaming remain, but in Japan things are starting to heat up. Game publishers in Japan are beginning to pair cloud gaming tech with the Nintendo Switch, which makes for a perfect pairing given the Switch’s mobile-class hardware and limited internal storage.

  • Google Cloud Next / New Hybrid Cloud Anthos, Partnerships, Data Centres - on April 9th, Google unveiled a handful of new AI-based services and partnerships for its smart analytics and machine learning tools, including a beta service called Anthos Migrate: a technology that can auto-migrate and modernize customers’ infrastructures to original virtual machines or applications.

  • The Cloud’s Level-Up Moment: Three Big Trends In SaaS - according to Gartner, SaaS revenue will grow by 17.3% in 2019 to reach $85.1 billion worldwide. This growth comes as no surprise; the cloud has dramatically lowered costs to develop and distribute software while increasing user accessibility.
